The Birth of a Project
Let’s bring a high-level Granfondo to Mondovì.

A project of great significance for promoting tourism in the Monregalese area and surrounding valleys.
A passion for cycling and the enhancement of the local territory come together in the Granfondo Alpi del Mare, an event that marks the debut of a new major classic in the national cycling scene. The event will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
With this goal in mind, the organizers of Granfondo Alpi del Mare are committed to raising the event to a level of excellence, making it a magnet for both Italian and international cyclists.
A PROJECT WITH CLEAR AND AMBITIOUS GOALS
Granfondo Alpi del Mare sets out to achieve the following goals:
- establish Mondovì as the center of a prestigious event;
- promote the territories of Monregalese, Langa Monregalese, and Alta Langa, highlighting their culinary, wine, and cultural excellence;
- engage local associations: hospitality providers, food and wine organizations, and regional promotional entities;
- attract an informed audience, not only seeking competition and wellness, but also immersive experiences connected to scenic beauty and food traditions.
THE PROVINCE OF CUNEO: A CYCLING PARADISE
The Monregalese area and surrounding valleys offer ideal terrain for cycle tourism:
- unique landscapes between the Alps and the Langhe hills;
- outstanding food and wine heritage with world-renowned wines and local products;
- legendary climbs that have been the stage of memorable achievements in cycling history;
- ideal climate with cool summers perfect for sports activities.
CYCLE TOURISM: AN ASSET FOR THE REGION
Cycle tourism is a rapidly growing sector, with an estimated direct economic impact of over €5.5 billion annually as of 2023. Cyclists stay on average 58% longer than traditional tourists, providing a significant boost to accommodation providers and local businesses.
In 2023, 56.8 million cycle tourism stays were recorded, as highlighted in the “Viaggiare con la bici 2024” report by ISNART and Legambiente. The typical cycling tourist has a high level of education and a medium-to-high income, and often travels with a partner, family, or friends.
These figures demonstrate how cycle tourism has become a key component of Italy’s tourism offer, triggering a virtuous cycle between increasingly attentive demand and a constantly improving supply of services.
THE ROUTES: GRANFONDO AND LEISURE RIDE
The event will feature two routes:
- Granfondo: 103 km with 1,970 meters of elevation gain, a challenging yet accessible route designed to showcase the landscapes and towns of Monregalese, Langa Monregalese, and Alta Langa.
- Leisure Ride: 60 km, open to all, including enthusiasts and e-bike owners, with traditional refreshment stops highlighting the local flavors.
NOT JUST BIKES: EVENTS FOR EVERYONE
The event will include a range of side activities:
- Fit Walking: a walk through Mondovì for families and companions.
- Children’s Gymkhana: a dedicated area for young children to explore the world of cycling.
- Expo and Pasta Party in the Square: the beating heart of the event will be Piazza Maggiore in Mondovì, featuring booths from companies and sports sponsors, and a hospitality area for interviews and live broadcasts.
A SYMBOLIC EVENT JERSEY
All participants will receive the official Granfondo Alpi del Mare jersey, a symbol of the event and a promotional tool for the involved partners. The jersey will be made of high-quality materials and will accompany cyclists throughout the year.
Leisure Ride participants will also receive a jersey dedicated to the event.
BEING A PARTNER: A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL IMPACT
Granfondo Alpi del Mare is an unmissable opportunity for local businesses to enhance their visibility and connect with a dynamic, passionate audience.
The event is not just a sports competition, but a true economic engine capable of generating significant impact on the local economy, involving companies, accommodations, restaurants, and local producers.
To maximize these opportunities, several partnership programs are available:

A special dedication to Lorenzo Tealdi, a historic figure in Cuneo’s cycling world, will further highlight the strong link between the event and the territory.
The event will be a promotional showcase active throughout the year, offering partners ongoing visibility and engagement within a dynamic and passionate community. Through targeted marketing strategies, side events, and a strong presence on digital channels, associated brands will benefit from continuous promotion, strengthening their connection with the public and enhancing the value of the region.
